The Labyrinth of Kindo'jan has been introduced in Patch 12.1.5. In this post I will focus on how to kill Kindo'jan, the last boss.
This is not an easy fight but it is also not a difficult fight. There are lot of mechanics that you have to follow. Damage from these mechanics is not that big of a concern but if you get hit 3 times in 5 minutes by avoidable mechanics, its a instant death.
Clear All Chambers
To gain access to last boss Kindo'jan you have to clear all 9 chambers on first run after the introduction quest. On subsequent runs you do not have to clear all 9 chambers but I will strongly recommend to clear all 9 chambers to gain all buffs and boons. You will need them all.
Item Level
Item level requirement can depend on your class spec. In my experience I will aim for Item Level of 300+ for a smoother run. As a BM hunter I cleared it with item level 300. I tried with other classes at item level less than 300. It was a lot of work. Even some of the chamber bosses can be hard at lower item levels.
Companion Valeera
Kindo'jan does not move, other than teleporting around the room, you do not have to keep Valeera in tank spec or healer spec. Keep her in DPS spec. There are few adds you have to deal with, but you can handle them without Valeera in tank spec. I used following Valeera curios that provided a lot of DPS.
- Poison:Bursting Toad Toxin
- Combat: Corrosive Bilespear
- Utility:Soul Cracking Dreamcatcher
Codex Of Power
You can use Ula'tek's Gift. If you can use 2, then use Insidious Venom as well.
Mechanics
I will not explain each mechanic. I will just share the play style I used. There are two phases of this fight. First phase will show you all the mechanics one by one. Use phase one to learn each mechanics and how to avoid. Do not use any damage buffs in this phase.
Phase 1
I will mention mechanics in the order they happen.
- Eruption of Mojo: Stand on the edge to drop the puddle on side. This will happen four times. By staying on the side, you can continue to DPS without moving too much.
- Axes:If you have placed puddles from Eruption of Mojo on the side, then middle is clear for you. Stay there. When swirling axes come, you can easily avoid those moving circles in the middle. If you go to sides, your chances of getting hit are high. Four axe throwers do not have lot of health. You can quickly kill them after swirling axe circles have return to boss. You can continue to DPS axe throwers but priority is avoid the circles. If you kill axe throwers quickly, DPS boss. Then a Amani Juggernaught will appear. You will see thick line pointing towards you. After sometime, Amani Juggernaught will hit you along that line and try to push you from the platform. Stay next to Amani Juggernaught and position in a way that there is sufficient distance between Amani Juggernaught and platform edge. This way when you get hit, you will not fall from platform. Kill Amani Juggernaught. It can not be CCed. Kill it quickly and get back to DPS on boss.
- Tigers: Four tigers appear and they will constrain Valeera in the center with four white lines. Quickly identify the line that will move the arresting circle on you. Tiger will hit you. If you are not able to identify the line quickly, then Valeera will be hit and be unconscious. Quickly revive her.
- Bears: Now big bears will appear on the edges. After some time they will move from one edge to the other. Find the gap between them and stand there. If you get hit by bear, it is a one shot. This will happen two times.
- Flapping Eagle: A white shiny eagle will appear in the middle. It will flap wings to create draft. Watch for corridors originating from the bird. Stand in it. Otherwise you will be throw off the platform. Bird will cast this 3 times.
- Flame Circles: Last mechanics will cause 2 lame circles to appear. One circle will have red marker. Valeera will stand in it. You have to stand in the other circle. If one circle is left without any one in it, it is one shot death.
Phase 2
After all mechanics have cycled one by one, Phase 2 starts. In this phase all mechanics will be used but in no particular order. Unlike Phase 1, multiple mechanics will overlap. They are not case sequentially.
Now it will be a DPS race. Pop your potion and use damage buffs like Hero and focus on boss while avoiding damage. There are certain mechanics in which you can stay focused on boss. Axe throwers are one of the mechanics. Use defensive skill and continue DPS on boss.
Amani Juggernaught is a problem mechanics in phase 2. It will appear along with flame circles. You have to follow a sequence here. Do not stand in circle. Move to Amani Juggernaught and try to position the hit in a way that hit will place you close to the circle in which you have to stand. There is very little time between Amani Juggernaught hit and flame circle's ignition.
Phase 2 will be just burn phase while avoiding damage as well as avoidable mechanics.
